Salvation is Created

25songsofxmas

I absolutely love Christmas music. Seriously, I'm obsessed with it. Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, I bring out all my Christmas albums, songs, and playlists... and there are quite a few of them. I get giddy when I find out that an artist I love has recorded a holiday song or album. And this year, Christmas music took on a whole new meaning for me. For some reason, I started really paying attention to the words more than I ever had. I didn't realize it before, but Christmas music is some of the best worship music that has ever been written.

“Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day.” Technically I think they’ve figured out that He wasn’t actually born on Christmas day, but that’s not the point. Jesus is literally the reason for the season. This is the time of year where we focus on what actually happened all those years ago when that little child was born.

Salvation was created.

"O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer our spirits by Thine advent here. Disperse the gloomy clouds of night and death's dark shadows put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel."

"This, this is Christ the King, whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring him laud; the babe, the son of Mary."

"Christmas time is here, we'll be drawing near. Oh, that we could always see such spirit through the year."

On December 1st, I started the “25 Songs of Christmas.” These are just holiday songs that I absolutely love. BUT not all of them are traditional carols, and some of them aren’t spiritual at all. According to my dad, “some of these are just love songs disguised as Christmas songs!” And he’s very right. But I still love all of them!

About Me

I'm 22. I'm a girl. I just graduated from Texas A&M. I hate (and am allergic to) peanut butter. I like taking pictures. I watch too many movies. I hoard music and take great pleasure in finding new artists. I get annoyed with work because it doesn't allow me enough time to read for pleasure. I have a love/hate relationship with exercise, depending entirely on the time of day. I love movies based on comic books. I get really freaked out by E.T. I'm a big, big fan of food. I think anything remotely related with Aaron Sorkin is genius. I can't stand pro football. I have an unhealthy obsession with fall and Christmas. I love, love, love laughing with my family. I try to be a good follower of Christ and I falter a lot, but the beauty of Him is that I don't have to save myself.
